Muhammad Yunus Visit Japan to Talk About Peace Bangladesh Azharul Islam Who Killed Thoughts of People and Raped Women Acquitted

Muhammad yunus visit japan: Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, who arrived in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, said on Thursday (May 29, 2025) that peace was becoming elusive outside and outside of it. War and man -made struggles are ending the lives and livelihood of thousands of people.

Nobel Prize winner Younus said in Tokyo that Asia should give a new moral guidelines to the world, which supports peace, cooperation than competition and stability than short-term benefits.

Bangladesh’s Supreme Court acquitted Azharul Islam
This statement of Mohammad Yunus on peace came a few days after the Bangladesh’s Supreme Court on Tuesday overturned the decision of defect against the prominent Islamic leader, which was sentenced to death during Sheikh Hasina’s government last year.

Jamaat-e-Islami leader ATM Azharul Islam is accused of killing 1,256 people, kidnapping 17 people and raping 13 women during the 1971 liberation struggle of Bangladesh. Jamaat-e-Islami supported Islamabad during the war, anger can be seen among Bangladeshis even today about his role.

Who is Azharul Islam
Sheikh Hasina had banned the Jamaat-e-Islami during her tenure and took action against many of its leaders. Azharul Islam was one of the 6 senior leaders convicted during his tenure. Born in 1952 in Lohanipara village of Badarganj in Rangpur district, Islam worked as the commander of Al-Bangladesh during the liberation struggle of Bangladesh. He supported the Pakistani Army in suppressing the movement of Mukti Sangram. In 2014, he was convicted of conspiring for the 1971 JharuRabel massacre, during which 1,256 people were brutally murdered in Bangladesh’s Rangpur division and 13 women were raped.

Azharul Islam was in custody since 2012. Islam first appealed against its sentence in 2015, but the court upheld the verdict in 2019 and filed a review petition in 2020. Islam again appealed against his sentence on 27 February and on Tuesday, the full bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mefat Ahmed acquitted him.
