A massive fire suddenly broke out at Arki Bazaar in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh last night (Sunday, January 11) at around 2.30 am. In this tragic accident, an 8 year old girl was burnt to death, while 7 to 8 people are still reported missing. The missing people include 2 women, 2 men and 4 children.
The fire first broke out in a residential house, which spread to nearby shops and other houses within a few minutes. Within no time the entire market was engulfed in smoke and flames. The magnitude of the fire can be gauged from the fact that more than 6 houses were completely burnt to ashes, while many shops were also burnt.
Further fire broke out due to LPG cylinder explosion
The situation became even more out of control due to the explosion of several LPG cylinders during the incident. The fire spread rapidly due to the explosions of the cylinders, due to which the fire fighters had to face great difficulties in extinguishing the fire. People nearby came out of their homes in panic.
As soon as the information was received, the fire department, police administration and local people reached the spot. After several hours of hard work the fire could be controlled, but by then a large part of the market had been burnt to ashes.
The cause of the fire is not yet known
Local MLA Sanjay Awasthi also reached the spot and took stock of the situation. He said that the cause of the fire has not been known yet. He said that the search operation is going on to find those who are missing.
After this accident, there is an atmosphere of mourning and panic in the entire area. Everything of the affected families has been destroyed in the fire. Relief and rescue work is underway from the administration, while investigation into the cause of the fire has also been started.
