Mumbai 26/11 Attack: 17 years have passed since that dark night of Mumbai, but the wounds of 26/11 are still fresh in the memories of the country. The sound of bullets, burning hotels, scared people and many families who have become silent, everything seems as if it happened yesterday. Amidst all this, one such story remained suppressed, which exposes the real weakness and fear of terrorist Ajmal Kasab. This is the same incident when he had wet his pants while sitting in the police van. After all, what happened that day?

166 dead, more than 300 injured

Today is the 17th anniversary of the Mumbai attacks of 26 November 2008. This was the same day when 10 terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out such an attack on the financial capital of the country, which shook the whole of India. In this bloody game that lasted for about four days, 166 people were killed and more than 300 were injured. Wherever we go, CST Railway Station, Taj Hotel, Oberoi, Cama Hospital, we remember the terror of that night. A terrorist, Mohammad Ajmal Aamir Kasab, was caught alive in this attack, but many unheard things related to him still surprise people.

Kasab’s identity kept secret

Mumbai Crime Branch officer Ramesh Mahale, who was the chief investigating officer of the case, says that after Kasab’s arrest, his name was changed for three days. During many investigative processes, he was registered under the name ‘Mohammed’, so that his identity could be kept secret in hospitals or other places. The biggest concern of the security agencies was that if people came to know that a terrorist was present among them, then the risk of crowd and violence could increase.

Ward boy recognized Kasab

During this time, an interesting incident troubled the officials and also forced them to laugh. He was admitted to St. George Hospital for medical examination. There a ward boy recognized him from the media pictures and directly asked, “You are Kasab, right?” Kasab, acting innocent, replied, “No, my name is Mohammad.” But that ward boy refused to listen to him. Due to security reasons, the crime branch kept the ward boy in the same ward for three days, collected his mobile phone and after calling home, he was told not to go out.

I peed in my pants

But this story does not end here. The real incident happened when Kasab was being taken from Arthur Road Jail to Yerwada Jail in Pune, where he was to be hanged. The officers knew that the vehicle could not be stopped midway during the journey of about three and a half hours, so he was given a big empty bottle and told that if he felt like urinating, he could do so in it. But the terrorist’s fear was probably bigger than the bottle. When he was brought down after reaching Yerwada jail, the officers were surprised to find that his pants were completely wet. He himself admitted that he could not urinate in the bottle and did so in the car itself. The seat of the car was also completely drenched.

This incident was not just an embarrassing incident, but it shows that as dangerous a face as the world saw on the TV screen, in reality Kasab was an equally weak, scared and broken person from within. The terrorist wielding big weapons could not even muster the courage to stop urinating.
