Mumbai Airport Record Number of Traffic: Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) recorded a slight but steady increase in passenger traffic in the year 2025. According to Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), a total of 5.55 crore passengers used this airport in 2025, which is 1.3 percent more than 5.48 crore passengers in 2024. The total passengers included 3.92 crore domestic passengers and more than 1.63 crore international passengers. MIAL said passenger traffic remained good throughout the year due to strong demand and peak travel period.
According to MIAL, January 2025 was the busiest month when nearly 50 lakh passengers (both arrivals and departures combined) used the airport. This was followed by November, in which 49 lakh passengers traveled. The special thing is that in November itself the airport recorded the three highest passenger traffic days. Of these, November 29 was the busiest day, when 1,75,925 passengers used CSMIA in a single day, creating an all-time record.
The October-December quarter of the financial year 2024-25 was the busiest for the airport, during which a total of 1.43 crore passengers traveled through here. A total of 3,31,011 flights were operated at CSMIA in the year 2025, which included 2,38,870 domestic and 92,141 international flights. Apart from this, another record was made on 21 November, when 1,036 flights (including arrivals and departures) were operated in a single day, which is the largest figure till date.
MIAL also said that as part of the network expansion, many new international destinations were added in 2025. These include Almaty, Amman, Bali (Denpsar), Copenhagen, Fujairah, Krabi, Manchester and Tbilisi. The addition of these new flights has not only strengthened international connectivity, but also broadened the global reach of Mumbai Airport.
