Mumbai Indians have started taking major decisions first in the ‘trade game’. After Shardul Thakur, MI has traded the dreaded West Indies batsman Sherfan Rutherford to Gujarat Titans. Last season, Rutherford was included in their squad by Gujarat Titans by paying a sum of Rs 2.6 crores. Mumbai Indians have added him to their team from Gujarat by paying the same amount.
Sherfan Rutherford scored 291 runs in 13 matches for Gujarat in IPL 2025. His strike rate was more than 157. Let us tell you that Rutherford has also played for Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore before this.
Sherfan Rutherford is the second player whom MI has traded to another team before IPL 2026. A few hours before that, MI franchise has confirmed the trade of Shardul Thakur. Thakur will leave LSG and play for Mumbai Indians next season. Thakur played for Lucknow Super Giants last season.
