Bollywood actor Salman Khan attended the 2-day lecture program of Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat organized on 7 February on the occasion of completion of 100 years of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). But this presence of Salman Khan has sparked a political debate. On this program, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut took a sharp taunt and asked questions directly to the Sangh chief.
Sanjay Raut asked whether the platform of RSS is open to all Muslims or is it limited only to big actors like Salman Khan. He asked whether Muslim love is limited to just one celebrity, or is the Sangh actually going to adopt a policy of inclusion.

Sanjay Raut said that calling Salman Khan on the Sangh platform seems to be only a symbolic step. He raised the question whether Salman Khan was invited only because of his popularity and ability to gather crowds. Raut said that if it is not so, then the Sangh should make it clear whether in future the doors of RSS branches and forums will be opened for other people of the Muslim community also.
He said that inviting one actor is not enough to convey the message of social harmony. The Sangh will have to clarify whether this is part of a permanent thinking or an experiment limited to just one event.
Sanjay Raut also told that he had also received an invitation for this program, but due to other pre-scheduled programs he could not attend it. He said that at present, questions are being raised about the role of RSS in the kind of tension and division that is being seen between Hindu and Muslim society in the country.
Attack on BMC Mayor’s statement
Sanjay Raut also reacted sharply to the statement of BJP’s newly elected BMC Mayor Ritu Tawde. Ritu Tawde had said that her first priority would be to expel Bangladeshis from Mumbai. On this, Raut said that BJP leaders are claiming that they will not allow Bangladeshis to live in Mumbai, whereas Balasaheb Thackeray had already started this. Raut further raised the question that when thousands of Hindus are being killed on the streets and their houses are being burnt in Bangladesh, then why is Prime Minister Narendra Modi silent and why is he not giving an open statement on this issue.
