A serious incident that harms religious harmony has come to light in the tourist city of Mussoorie. The tomb of Baba Bulleh Shah, located on the private land of Weinberg Allen School in Bala Hinsar area of Mussoorie, was damaged by anti-social elements. In this case, the police took immediate action and started investigation by registering a case against 25-30 unknown people including three named accused.
According to the information, on the evening of January 24, some anti-social elements entered the tomb complex with a hammer and crowbar and damaged the tomb. It is alleged that they also damaged the religious scriptures kept there and tried to spread religious frenzy by defecating in the tomb premises. After the incident, an atmosphere of tension was created in the area.
Police registered the case and started investigation
Regarding the matter, Mussoorie President of Muslim Seva Sangathan, Akram Khan, son of Taukbir Ahmed, gave a written complaint in the police station, Mussoorie. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered FIR. A case has been registered under section 196(1)(e) and 298 BNS under 04/26. Police have registered a named case against Hariom, Shivau and Shraddha, while efforts are on to identify other unidentified accused. Police are investigating CCTV cameras installed nearby and viral footage on social media.
Muslim organizations demanded immediate arrest of the accused
In protest against this incident, under the leadership of Muslim Seva Sangathan, people of Muslim community of Mussoorie, as well as citizens of other communities, reached the police station and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits. The protesters said that the shrine of Baba Bulleh Shah has been a symbol of brotherhood and mutual harmony for years, where people from all communities come with reverence.
Officials of Muslim Seva Sangathan warned that if the arrest is not made soon, a state-wide agitation will be carried out, the responsibility of which will be on the government and administration. He said that some mischievous and outside elements are trying to spoil the peaceful atmosphere of Uttarakhand, which will not be allowed to succeed at any cost.
CO Mussoorie said – strict action against the culprits
CO Mussoorie Manoj Aswal said that as soon as the complaint was received, the police have registered a case and the entire matter is being thoroughly investigated. He made it clear that law and order will not be allowed to deteriorate in Mussoorie under any circumstances and strict action will be taken against the culprits. On the other hand, Hindu Raksha Dal President Bhupendra alias Pinky Choudhary has taken responsibility for this sabotage by his organization workers.
