The body of Sri Ramanujacharya is kept in the south-west corner of the fifth chakra inside the Srirangam temple. The temple priest says that this order was given by Lord Ranganath himself.
According to beliefs, when Guru Ramanujacharya was about to leave this earth, he had told this to his disciples. He ordered his disciples to stay with them for three more days.
It is believed that he took his last breath in 1137 BC.
