Who is Namit Malhotra
Namit is the son of film producer Naresh Malhotra and grandson of cinematographer MN Malhotra. After completing his studies in computer graphics, Namit opened his first company. Whose name is video workshop. In his company, three college teachers were co-founders and Editing Studios was built in his father’s garage. Video workshop worked on shows like Boogie Wogi and Gatha and also did a post-production facility for channel V.
In 1997, Namit made a prime focus by combining his company video workshop with father’s film production and rented business. Initially, the company gave a technological creative service for TV shows and films, followed by The Hurricane Hest and Brahmastra in the film production with Part One.
Work on Ramayana in 2015
Namit had told in an interview to Hindustan Times that he started working in 2015 on the idea of adopting Ramayana. He had said- ‘I not only want to make India proud, but I want to excite the world about the art of saying Indian story and really want to celebrate global cinema. It is not that we do not like Hollywood movies. It is not that we do not watch landmark movies, or any of them, you know, landmark movies. His stories are universal. I believe this is also universal. This is the occasion that I believe that I am very lucky to get in my life, and I hope I will be able to complete it. ‘
Talking about Ramayana, Nitesh Tiwari is directing it. This film will be released in two parts. The first part will be released in Diwali 2026 in the second part Diwali 2027. In the film, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen playing important roles along with Ranbir Kapoor and Yash.
