Karnataka milk price: Siddaramaiah’s government in Karnataka has decided to increase the price of Nandini milk to be supplied by the Karnataka Milk Federation on Thursday. This decision was taken after considering the demand of KMF and farmer organizations.

All these products will also be expensive

This decision to increase the price of milk was taken just before the Ugadi festival, which will be celebrated with great pomp across Karnataka on 30 March. Now that the price of milk will increase, then the price of coffee, tea and other products made of milk in sweets shops will also increase.

Recently, the state government was criticized for increasing the fare of metro and RTC bus. The government has also increased the electricity rate. The price of milk was also demanded to increase Rs 5 per liter. However, the government has decided to increase it at 4 rupees.

Therefore milk price will be increased

On March 5, the government of Karnataka informed about increasing the price of Nandini milk in the state. During the question-answer session in the Legislative Council, Animal Husbandry Minister K.K. Venkatesh said, “We will definitely increase the price of milk. How much the price should be increased will be discussed with the Chief Minister. ”He also said that the government owes a subsidy of Rs 656.07 crore for milk producers. A total of 9.04 lakh beneficiaries have not yet received the outstanding amount.

He told, “We have asked the Finance Department to issue pending funds. After the amount is approved by the department, it will be distributed to the beneficiaries. We will do this soon. Farmers are talking about increasing the price of milk to 10 rupees per liter. We will definitely increase the price of milk. After discussion with the Chief Minister, how much the price is to be increased will be decided.

Protests continued across the state

Milk federations across the state are demanding to increase the price of milk. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had earlier opposed this increase, but it was approved in the cabinet meeting on Thursday. Protests over the rising milk prices continue since February. Karnataka State Rayat Association and Green Brigade are demanding to increase the purchase price of milk to at least Rs 50 per liter. He has also sought an interim support price of Rs 10 per liter till MSP is implemented.
