India Population Census 2027 Dates: The central government has issued official notification regarding the census. This process of census will be completed by 1 March 2027, while the date of completion of census in the hilly areas of Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand will be 1 October 2026. Along with the census, this time caste census will also be conducted, which the government had announced some time ago.
Decision to conduct census in two phases
Along with the calculation of castes, it has been decided to conduct census-2027 in two phases. The reference date for Census-2027 will be on the first day of March 2027 at 00:00. That is, the census work will be completed by 1 March 2027. The last date for completion of census for the Union Territory of Ladakh and Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will be on October 1, 2026.

The final phase of the census will start from February 2027 and will be completed by 01 March 2027 (reference date). With the release of the official notification, now different agencies will start doing their work. In this process, training the staff is involved in setting up the data to collect data by going to the house of the people. The last phase of the census will be completed by 1 March 2027. Census takes place every 10 years, know how to work
Census is done once every ten years in India. Its purpose is to collect the population, social and economic status and other necessary information of the country, so that the government can take the right decisions in making policies and setting plans.
