Junaid Safdar, son of Pakistani politician Maryam Nawaz and grandson of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, has got married royally to Shanze Ali Rohail. The bride’s outfit is being discussed a lot on the internet not only in Pakistan but also in India. The reason for this is that Junaid Safdar’s wife wore a saree of an Indian designer instead of the designer of her country in her wedding. And this is the same saree that Bollywood actress Ananya Pandey wore in a function in the year 2025. At the same time, Pakistani people are taunting Nawaz Sharif’s daughter-in-law for copying the saree of a Bollywood actress.
Nawaz Sharif’s daughter-in-law becomes bride in red dress
Nawaz Sharif’s daughter-in-law left Pakistani traditional bridal outfit and became a bride in red color saree. Even after copying Ananya Pandey’s saree, Shanje Ali Rohail could not impress with her look. Ananya Pandey won a lot of praise for her saree designed by Tarun Tahiliani. In such a situation, now a lot of people are being trolled for copying Shanje.
Junaid Safdar’s wife wore Ananya Pandey’s saree
Let us tell you that on January 18, Pakistani fashion content creator and stylist Moeed Shah analyzed Junaid Safdar’s wife’s ‘baraat (wedding) looks’ on Instagram and he left no stone unturned in criticizing Shanje. Moeed wrote in his caption, “The wedding looks came out and I was confused…” For him, the main cause of controversy was Shanze’s selection of Tarun Tahiliani’s saree for her wedding procession.
In the video, he explained: “Let’s analyze all the looks from the wedding procession. Let’s start with the bride, Shanze Ali Rohail, and I will say very clearly that her look was not at all impressive. It was dull. It just didn’t have what it took to impress everyone. We expected to see something different, something memorable. And what did we get? The same worn-out and dull outfit? The same saree that Ananya Panday has worn at an event before. (She wore this saree at the wedding reception of Aadar Jain and Alekha Advani in Mumbai in 2025).”
Missed opportunity for local Pakistani fashion
Moeed’s argument was that for such a grand wedding, a high-profile political merger between the Nawaz Sharif and Sheikh Rohail Asghar families, the fashion should have been different. Noting that Shanze had already worn an outfit by an Indian designer (Sabyasachi) for her mehendi, she said, “For the wedding procession, I really felt that a Pakistani designer’s outfit would have been better, this is the biggest political wedding of the season, with millions of people watching it nationally and internationally. The least that could have been done was to promote local fashion.”
