National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has started a special 40-week online diploma course for science teachers from classes 6 to 8 across the country. The last date of application for this course has been fixed as 28 December 2025.
This 40-week online diploma course has been designed to introduce teachers to new and modern methods of teaching science. Its purpose is that the teachers themselves can better understand the new discoveries of science and the foundation of the subject and then can teach the students in the class more effectively, so that all the important concepts can be explained to the children in a better way.
The course will be conducted through NCERTX platform
This online diploma course has been specially prepared by NCERT and its complete monitoring is also done by NCERT. This course will be conducted through the ‘NCERTX’ platform, the official online education initiative of NCERT. Teachers can complete the course online from home through this platform.
Course Name, Duration and Fees
This course is being conducted under the name “Teaching of Science at Middle Stage (Class 6 to 8)”. The total duration of the course is 40 weeks. This course will start from 29 December 2025 and will run till 18 October 2026.
The course will be completely online and approximately 6 to 8 hours of study time will be required every week. The fee for this course has been fixed at ₹ 2,000, which will have to be paid once and will not be refunded. On successful completion of the course and final examination, an e-certificate will be given by NCERT.
Who can apply?
This course is mainly for working i.e. in-service teachers. Apart from this the following people can also apply.
- Science teacher for class 6 to 8
- Teacher holding B.Sc degree
- Candidates having Diploma or Degree in Education
- Students studying teaching i.e. pre-service teachers
- Other people associated with science education
how to apply?
- To apply for this course, first of all you have to go to ncertx.in website.
- There you will have to go to Pay Fee Online section and deposit the fee of ₹ 2,000 online.
- It is important to use the same email ID during the application process.
- Within about a week of depositing the fees, an email will be sent by NCERTX, in which information about the further process will be given. The enrollment process can be completed by following the instructions given in that email.
