In today’s digital era, children’s education is no longer limited to books only. With changing technology, methods of education are also changing. Especially if proper guidance and interesting material is provided in the initial education of small children, then their learning ability can increase manifold. With this in mind, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has started a special digital initiative. This initiative is ‘e-Magic Box’ app. This app is powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and has been designed keeping in mind children, parents and teachers. The aim is for children to learn through play and for adults to actively participate in their learning journey.
What is ‘e-Magic Box’ app?
e-Magic Box is a digital learning platform that offers stories, songs, fun activities and interactive guidance in one place. This app works with the help of three AI bots, which answer questions instantly and make the learning process easier. Along with the launch of this app, NCERT has also started a campaign named Empire of Learning and Learning. Its aim is to motivate families and teachers to use this platform regularly and engage in the learning process with children.
Three special AI bots present in the app
1. Katha Sakhi – It creates interesting and imaginative stories for children. Its objective is to increase the curiosity of children and strengthen their thinking ability.
2. Guardian Star – It answers the questions of parents. It provides guidance on questions related to the upbringing, behavior and early education of young children.
3. Teacher Tara – It has been created to help teachers. Gives suggestions to explain things to children in a better way and conduct activity based studies in the class. Users can type their questions directly into the app and get AI generated answers instantly.
Can be used even without smartphone
The special thing about this app is that it can be used not only through mobile app but also on WhatsApp and Telegram. Families who do not have a smartphone can also avail features like story of the day, song of the day and question of the day by calling toll-free IVRS number 1800-212-0173 or 15108.

The AI system installed in the e-magic box works as a digital companion of the children. It can answer questions anytime. Encourages children to ask questions. Creates an opportunity to learn everyday things. Makes learning interesting through stories and conversations.
