A new controversy has arisen due to a statement by NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) MLA Sangram Jagtap in the Hindu Jan Aakrosh Morcha held in Solapur. Jagtap said that while shopping, our money, our purchases and our profits should belong only to Hindu people. He appealed to shop only from Hindu traders on Diwali.
After his statement, a heated discussion has started in political circles. AIMIM state president and MP Imtiaz Jalil had criticized this statement of Jagtap. But when he was asked to comment on this, he refused to comment. Many people believe that such statements can disturb social harmony during the festive season.
Ajit Pawar angry on Sangram Jagtap
There are only a few days left for Diwali but the political temperature has increased due to this statement of Jagtap. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has expressed displeasure over this ‘Hindutva’ statement of Jagtap. He said that the party had earlier also explained to him about such statements, but there was no improvement. The Ajit Pawar faction has made it clear that the party does not agree with Jagtap’s views and a show cause notice will be issued against him.
What did Ajit Pawar say?
Ajit Pawar said, “The policies and ideology of the party are clearly decided. If any MP, MLA or responsible official makes such statements deviating from the ideology of the party, it is not acceptable to the party. When Arunka Jagtap was alive, everything was fine. Now Sangram Jagtap should speak and behave responsibly. He had already been explained on such statements in a program, and he had also assured to make improvements, but till now no one has done anything.” No improvement is visible.”
Sangram Jagtap’s anti-party ‘Hindutva’ role has now become the center of discussion in the state politics after the Deputy CM warned of issuing the notice. These days, Jagtap, along with BJP minister Nitish Rane and MLA Gopichand Padalkar, is actively participating in Hindu public protest morchas organized across the state and giving sharp ‘Hindutva’ speeches there.
Sangram Jagtap had received threats earlier also
Sangram Jagtap had received a death threat in the month of July, which created a stir. A threatening text message came on the mobile phone of his personal assistant Suhas Shirsath, which read, “I will end Sangram within two days.” In this case, a case was registered against an unknown person in Kotwali police station.
