NCP President Praful Patel’s counter attack on Raj Thackeray’s statement that he is ‘Patel’ and not ‘Patel’, ‘These people…’

For the last few days, there is a discussion going on in the political circles of Maharashtra that after Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel will get the post of National President of NCP. There has been a stir in the politics of the state regarding this. MNS chief Raj Thackeray had said that NCP is a party of struggling workers that has emerged from Marathi soil. The president of such a party should be a Marathi. He may be ‘Patil’ but not ‘Patel’. Praful Patel has responded by hitting back on this on Tuesday (03 February).

NCP’s president will not be me, but someone else – Praful Patel

Praful Patel made it clear that the national president of NCP will not be me, but someone else. When he was asked about Raj Thackeray’s statement, he looked quite angry. He asked, “Raj Thackeray, does he have any connection with my party, is he in our party? Will Raj Thackeray or the 9 am bulletin (Sanjay Raut) decide who will be the legislative party leader and national president of my party? These people are telling us what to do in our party.”

We are in the process of taking the right decision- Praful Patel

He further said, “Being the working president, it is my responsibility to elect the new leader of the party after Ajit Pawar. We are in the process of taking the right decision. We have currently elected the legislature party leader and the deputy chief minister. Now that our party has become stable, we will consider the issue of merger of both the national committees.”

I am never in the race for the post of National President – Praful Patel

According to ABP Majha, Prafull Patel further said, “After Ajit Pawar, it is my responsibility to complete the process set by our party. The national president of NCP can be anyone other than me. That person will be eligible. However, some people are spreading false news. There is no truth in this. I have never been in the race for the post of national president. Have I or any leader of our party said that I am in the race for the post of national president?

Let us tell you that Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash in Baramati on 28 January. Three days after this accident, on Saturday (January 31), Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar was sworn in as Deputy CM. Before the swearing-in, Sunetra Pawar was unanimously elected the leader of the NCP legislature party.
