After the release of NEET 2025 results, the thing that students are waiting for is the cutoff for admission in Government Medical College. The hard work of millions of students is now focused on whether MBBS seats will be found in their marks. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the result and answer on 14 June, after which students are constantly searching for state -wise and category wise possible cut off.
This year, about 22 lakh students participated in the NEET exam, out of which about 12 lakhs have passed the examination. The number of seats is limited, but the match is tremendous. In such a situation, it is important to know which level your score is and in which category you can get a government college.
What is NEET qualifying cutoff?
NEET qualifying cutoff is the minimum score that a student needs to participate in counseling. This cutoff for General and EWS category is 50th percentile, whose score can be estimated to be between 160 and 720 this time. At the same time, for students of OBC, SC and ST category, this is the 40th percentile, which can be between 125 and 159 marks.
How many numbers are required for admission in government colleges?
If you want to get MBBS seat under All India Kota, then General and EWS category candidates will have to score about 620 to 680 or more. OBC students may need 590 to 610 and SC-ST candidates may need 520 to 550 marks. At the same time, seats can also be available from 570 to 620 points for general category in the state quota. Seats are expected to get 550 to 590 for OBC and 420 to 490 for SC-ST.
Does things affect the cutoff?
The cutoff of NEET is different every year because it depends on many things. First of all, the level of examination – if the paper is difficult, then the cutoff can go down. The second reason is the number of seats – If the seats of MBBS/BDS increase then more students can get a chance. Apart from this, the performance and coaching levels of students also play an important role.
Talking about state -wise performance …
According to reports, this time the most successful candidates have come from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. About 3.3 lakh students appeared in the examination in UP and about 1.7 lakh passed. Out of 2.4 lakh students from Maharashtra, more than 1.2 lakh students qualified the examination.
