Neha Singh Rathore News: A case has been registered against folk singer Neha Singh Rathore at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow under several serious sections including treason. The complaint states that their inflammatory posts on social media can harm the unity of the country by targeting a special religious community in view of the Pahalgam terror attack last week.

It was told that the FIR has been lodged on the complaint of poet Abhay Pratap Singh. Complainant Abhay Pratap Singh said, “Singer and poet Neha Singh Rathore had made objectionable remarks about the Pahalgam terror attack on his ‘X’ handle and shared such videos and posts on the social media platform which adversely affected national integrity.”

What did the police say?
On the other hand, on the FIR lodged against Neha Singh Rathore, DCP Central Ashish Srivastava said that, ‘Complainant Abhay Kumar Singh came with his application that a Twitter handle operated in the name of Neha Singh Rathore has been used to send tweets that break the moral fabric of the society. An FIR has been lodged against that Twitter handle user in related sections of BNS. At present, the investigation is going on and we will take necessary action.

Police said that in the complaint, Rathore has been accused of creating differences between communities on the basis of religion and caste and disturbing communal harmony.

The complainant has alleged that Rathore questioned the death of innocent victims in the Pahalgam attack and made anti -national statements, which led to the possibility of peace and public system being dissolved.

The complainant has been quoted as saying that the singer’s statements have gone viral on social media in Pakistan, where they are being used by the media for anti -India campaign.

Case of treason too?
On the basis of the complaint, the Hazratganj police said that a case has been registered against the folk singer under several charges under the Indian Justice Code (BNS), which includes trying to promote communal enmity, dissolve public peace and endanger India’s sovereignty, unity and integrity. Also, a case has been registered under the Information Technology (IT) Act.

The BNS clearly not mentioned treason, as it was mentioned in Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code of the colonial era, but Section 152 of the new Criminal Code deal with allegations like endangered the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the country.
