A very shocking case of administrative negligence has come to light in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. Here, a potter by profession, Mohammad Shahid, who makes and sells clay pots, has been sent a GST notice of Rs 1 crore 25 thousand 297. After which there is an uproar in his family. Shahid has received this notice by post, after which he is very scared. He has appealed to the authorities and demanded action.

According to the notice received by Shahid, he has no annual turnover at all. The subsistence allowance for him and his family is very low. At first glance, this is being considered a fraud. At present, many types of questions are being raised due to receipt of such notices.

What is the whole matter?

According to the information, Mohammad Shahid, resident of Raghuveerganj market of Harchandpur police station area, is a potter by ancestral profession. He and his family earn their living through hard work by making kulhars, pots, lamps, toys etc. from clay. He does not have any big business, partnership or factory. Recently, he received a notice issued by the Central Goods and Services Tax (and Central Excise, Vaishali Prabha Mandal, Hajipur (Bihar). In the notice, it has been claimed that a firm named ‘Bharat Enterprises’ is registered in GST in Shahid’s name in Siwan, Bihar, through which tax worth crores is outstanding in 2022-23 and 2023-24, which comes to a total of Rs 1,00,25,297.

Shahid told the conspiracy

Shahid told that this is definitely some conspiracy, he does not have any firm or big factory. They are not even educated. Someone has misused his PAN card. He has demanded investigation from the authorities and action. His family is also in shock after the notice.

No statement has yet come from the local GST authorities in this matter. Whereas such cases have come before also, in which such people received notices even though they were unaware of them.
