The total amount of these claims has reached about 21 billion Nepali rupees. According to the data released by Nepal Insurance Authority (which is the regulatory of the insurance sector) on Thursday, non-Life Insurance Companies received 1,984 claims from the insured people till 16 September, whose total amount is Rs 20.7 billion Nepali.

The loss is said to be assessed, so the claim is expected to increase. The claims that have been received by insurance companies so far are more than the claims found during the 2015 earthquake, when the claims reached 16.5 billion NPRs. According to the regulator, Nepal also launched an insurance scheme to cover the Covid-19 threat in 2020 and insurance companies received more than 16 billion NPR claims.

5.14 billion Nepalese claims on this company

The Branch of Indian Oriental Insurance, Oriental Insurance Company Limited has received the highest claim amount till 16 September. This information has been received from the data released from the concerned authority. This company has received claims of 5.14 billion Nepali rupees in 40 cases alone. It is said that most of these claims have come from Hotel Hilton Kathmandu, which suffered the most during protests.

Which five companies were the most stunned claim

Siddharth Premier Insurance, Summit Insurance, IGI Prudential Insurance and Sagarmatha Lumbini are also among the top five companies in terms of receiving the highest amount of claims. According to a Nepal Industries Confederation (CNI) official, some major commercial companies have alone reported losses of more than 60 billion Nepali rupees. CNI is a business organization, collecting information about the losses caused to private sector properties.
