The matter has become tense after Nepal depicted three areas of India in the new Rs 100 note. In its new 100 rupee note, Nepal has shown Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura as its territory, which have always been a part of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. After this step was taken by Nepal, India has expressed strong objection. India has termed this step of Nepal as a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. At the same time, the role of India and Nepal’s neighboring country China is also being told in this matter.
Foreign affairs expert Sanjeev Srivastava said that China has also played a role in making relations between India and Nepal tense. He said that many leaders of Nepal keep raising issues regarding India to earn their political livelihood. Many other leaders of Nepal like KP Sharma Oli, who are known for their closeness to China, China also hatches conspiracies through those leaders to create issues of dispute between India and Nepal.
He also said that such reports have also emerged that Nepal has got these new notes printed in China, due to which the bad tendency of creating tense disputes in the relations between India and Nepal is also coming to the fore.
India will not tolerate any interference on its sovereignty: Expert
Sanjeev Srivastava said that as far as India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are concerned, if anyone raises questions on it or tries to interfere in it, then this new India will never tolerate it.
He said that India has also clearly told the Government of Nepal that Nepal should avoid any such step and tendency, which may unnecessarily create tension between the relations between India and Nepal.
How did the dispute between India and Nepal start?
This dispute between India and Nepal started in the year 2020, when Nepal’s KP Oli government released a new political map and claimed that Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura are part of it due to the origin area of Mahakali river. Even the Parliament of Nepal had approved that map. India had expressed strong opposition to this step of Nepal and said that it does not match the historical facts and administrative reality at all. Now the matter has become heated again due to the same map being used on currency notes.
