What does the new rule say?

The new rule says that a fielder can touch the ball just once, jumping in the air outside the boundary. If a fielder pushes the ball inside the boundary while living in the air, then he comes inside the boundary and takes a catch only then it will be considered as legal.

Will Suryakumar Yadav be considered illegal?

In the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup, David Miller put an aerial shot, but Suryakumar Yadav rushed the ball running inside the boundary. They had gone across the boundary due to deteriorating balance, but had already bounced the ball in the air. Surya then came inside the boundary and completed the catch. According to the new rule, Surya’s catch will be considered as legal, but catch like Michael Nesar will now be considered illegal.
