GST 2.0: After a big announcement on the slab in the GST Council meeting, when it will be applicable from September 22, the price of many goods in the market is going to decrease. In such a situation, the goods that are already in the market, had caused problems for them. But now the government has solved their problems and announced on 9 September that companies can now put a new rate on their old remaining goods. That is, they can now sell those goods online print or stickers and sell it in scrap.
New sticker on old goods
It has been said on behalf of the government that it will be mandatory for companies to inform the consumers as well as to inform the consumers. For this, not only will advertisement have to be advertised in two newspapers, but that information will have to be provided to the states, shopkeepers and the concerned departments of the central government.
The most important thing is that companies were given the deadline till 22 September for change according to GST, but it was not possible to sell the old goods till that date. In such a situation, now companies have been given relief till the end of this year i.e. till 31 December 2025, so that they can sell their goods well in the festive season.
What was said in the notification?
The notification issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs states that companies can announce the revised MRP by 31 December 2025 or until the stock of old goods is over. But it will be mandatory to do stickers or online printing about the changed MRP on products.
According to the notification, due to GST change, the difference between old and revised prices should be depicted in the actual price increase or decrease. The government has also clarified that the old price cannot be pasted on it while imposing a new price. Also, customers must know what was the price of the product earlier and how much is the new price after the new GST is implemented.
