The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued important guidelines regarding practical examination, project and internal assessment of class 10th and 12th. These instructions are very important for students, schools and teachers, so that the examination process can be completed without any hassle. The board has clearly said that all schools should follow the prescribed rules completely, so that no student is harmed.

All these guidelines issued by CBSE are available on the official website of the board cbse.gov.in. The aim of the board is to conduct practical examinations with complete transparency and proper arrangements.

What is important?

First of all, the board has asked the schools to ensure that sufficient number of practical answer books reach the schools before the practical examination. It has been seen many times that there is a shortage of copies on the day of examination, due to which both students and teachers face problems. This time the board does not want any kind of negligence.

Along with this, schools have been asked to complete all the necessary preparations related to laboratories in advance. This includes cleanliness of the lab, necessary equipment, chemicals, machines and other materials. The board has clearly said that there should not be any kind of technical or resource related problem during the examination.

Special instructions for these children

Keeping in mind the convenience of children, CBSE has also issued special instructions for children with special needs i.e. CWSN (Children With Special Needs). Schools will have to make separate and easy arrangements for such students, so that they can participate in practicals, projects and internal assessments without any pressure. This includes seating arrangements, time relaxation and other necessary facilities.

This work will have to be done

Another important instruction is that schools will have to upload the marks of practical exams daily. The board has also said that before uploading the marks, please check what are the maximum marks fixed for practical, project and internal assessment. The responsibility of the school will be fixed if wrong marks are uploaded.

What did the board say?

CBSE has also clarified that all schools will have to complete the process of practical, project and internal assessment only between January 1, 2026 and February 14, 2026. There will be no permission to conduct the examination on any date outside this. The board says that it is important for all schools to follow the deadline.

When will the board exams be held?

Meanwhile, CBSE has also made changes in the datesheet of board exam 2026. According to the revised schedule, the class 10th main examination will start from 17 February 2026 and continue till 11 March 2026. Whereas, class 12th examination will be conducted from 17th February 2026 till 10th April 2026.
