Sanjay Malhotra took over as the 26th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India for a three -year term on December 11, 2024. According to the report by news agency ANI, the Reserve Bank has made it clear that all the current 20 rupees bank notes issued during the tenure of the previous governors will be in circulation.
According to the provisions of the RBI Act, 1934, all the notes issued by the Reserve Bank will be fully valid for transactions in India until the withdrawal is withdrawn.
