Aishbagh overbridge news: The new railway overbridge (ROB) built near Aishbagh Stadium in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is in the news before the inauguration. The reason for its coming into the discussion is its design, which the local people have expressed the possibility of accident.
This is because the bridge has a rapid turn of about 90 degrees. People say that this turn can be quite dangerous, especially when the vehicles are in speed. Pictures of this bridge are also being shared on social media and questions are being raised about its design.
Construction Department said the reason for the turn of 90 degrees
It has cost Rs 18 crore to build this 648 meter long and 8.5 meter wide overbridge. VD Verma, Chief Engineer of Public Works Department (Setu Department), told about its design that due to the close availability of the metro station and the limited availability of land, there was no option other than this turn. He also clarified that only small vehicles will be allowed to run on this bridge.
About three lakh people will benefit every day- government
The construction of this overbridge is almost complete and through this, the citizens of Mahamai Bagh, Pushpa Nagar and Station area were expected to get relief. Earlier it was claimed that with the construction of the overbridge, the residents of Aishbagh region will not have to wait at the railway gate and will not have to make a long round. The government also says that about three lakh people will benefit from this bridge every day.
The department claims that the overbridge has been prepared under the security standards as per the guidelines of the Indian Road Congress and the vehicles will be able to run here at a low speed.
It is noteworthy that since the closure of Aishbagh railway crossing, the demand for an overbridge was arising in this area. Its construction process was started from 21 March 2023. Now it has to be seen how much this bridge meets the expectations of the public after the inauguration.
