New Year was welcomed with rain in Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai. On the very first day of the year (Thursday, January 1), the weather suddenly changed and unseasonal rain increased the cold. Due to rain, pollution in Mumbai has reduced, the weather has also become pleasant but now one is feeling cold.
Cold winds along with rain brought a significant drop in the temperature. At present, the situation is that it is raining intermittently all over Mumbai. The Meteorological Department has informed that due to increase in moisture in the Arabian Sea and western disturbance, light to moderate rain is occurring in Mumbai and suburban areas. However, there is a possibility that the weather will clear up within the next few hours.
The weather is expected to remain normal on the night of Thursday, January 1, but light showers may continue at some places.
