New Year is going to arrive amidst severe cold in the country. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of rain in many parts a day before the New Year. After the rain, there will be a drop of 3 to 4 degrees in the maximum temperature. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog in more than 15 major cities.
Where will it rain?
According to IMD, the weather is going to worsen in 5 states of North India on December 31, in which rain warning has been issued for Delhi, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Kashmir and Haryana. After the rain in these states, the temperature may also drop by 3 to 4 degrees, which will increase the cold further. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in many parts of Tamil Nadu for the next 3 days.
Delhi weather
According to the Meteorological Department, the sky may be cloudy in the capital Delhi from the evening of 30th December, but a warning of light rain has been issued on 31st December. After the rain the cold will increase further in the capital. The maximum temperature in Delhi tomorrow will be 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 7 degrees Celsius.
Cold will increase further in UP
The cold is going to increase further in the coming days in Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in the state on January 1. Today the weather may remain dry in the western and eastern parts of the state. During this period, there is a possibility of dense to extremely dense fog at some places in both the parts. Cold day alert has been issued at some places in UP.

According to IMD, there is a possibility of very dense fog in Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar and Gonda on Tuesday. An alert of dense to very dense fog has been issued in the areas of Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly and Pilibhit.
The Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog in Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya and Ambedkar Nagar. There is a possibility of dense fog in Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr and Aligarh.
Bihar weather
The weather is going to deteriorate in Bihar adjacent to UP from Tuesday. Apart from the capital Patna, an alert of dense fog has been issued in East Champaran, West Champaran, Siwan, Gopalganj and Chapra. Apart from this, visibility is also expected to be less than 50 meters in Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Begusarai, Samastipur, Darbhanga and Madhubani.
