Nqobani Mokoena, who debuted for South Africa at the age of just 19, gave a memorable performance. He bowled brilliantly in his first international and took three wickets for 26 runs. Apart from them, Gerald Coetzee and Ottniel Bartman took two wickets each, while captain Keshav Maharaj also helped New Zealand wrap up the deal cheaply by taking two wickets.
South Africa achieved the target within 17 overs
Chasing the target of 92 runs given by New Zealand, South Africa won easily in 16.4 overs. Proteas team’s wicketkeeper batsman Connor Esterhuizen played a calm and composed innings and scored unbeaten 45 runs in 48 balls, which included two fours and as many sixes. His innings led the South African team to victory by seven wickets.

He further said, ‘It felt great to debut in the first match of the series. My first two overs didn’t go the way I wanted and I thought I might not get a wicket, but the conditions were very favorable for the bowlers. There was movement on the ball and I could use my slow balls well. I liked this experience very much.
