They are truly world class players and fully deserved the victory. Even though we wanted New Zealand to win, we feel most happy when someone beats Australia and India did the same.”

India won the trophy by defeating South Africa in the final under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur. This was India’s third World Cup final and this time the team won the title for the first time. With this victory, India became the fourth country to win the Women’s Cricket World Cup after Australia, England and New Zealand.
