Niti aayog meeting: The 10th Governing Council of NITI Aayog was held on Saturday (24 May 2025) under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this meeting, PM Modi said that the states and union territories asked to encourage investment and remove policy obstacles for employment generation. He said that if the central government and the state work together like Team India, then no goal is impossible.
All parties supported Operation Sindoor
Regarding the meeting of the 10th governing council of NITI Aayog, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) BVR Subrahmanyam said that all the people present in the meeting unanimously supported India’s Operation Sindoor to destroy the terrorist structure in Pakistan. He said that Prime Minister Modi also urged the states to focus on agriculture, education and health services.
The Prime Minister said that the 10 -year journey of NITI Aayog was to prepare the nation to achieve the goal of developed India. This time the theme of the meeting of the governing council was a developed state for India developed in 2047. The meeting was attended by the Chief Ministers and Lt. Governor of 31 states and union territories out of a total of 36, who did not participate in it, they had already informed the council about this.
CM of these states did not reach the meeting
He said that the states who did not attend the meeting were Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal, Bihar and Puducherry. Most states and union territories attended this meeting of the council. Earlier, NITI Aayog quoted Prime Minister Narna on the social media platform X, “We have to increase the pace of development. If the Center and all the states work together like Team India, then no goal is impossible.
PM Modi said, “Developed India is the goal of every Indian. India will develop when every state develops. This is the aspiration of its 140 crore citizens. ”The Governing Council, the top body of NITI Aayog, includes the Chief Minister of all the states, the Lt. Governor of the Union Territories and many Union Ministers. Prime Minister Modi is the chairman of NITI Aayog.
Our goal is to develop every state- PM Modi
PM Modi said, “Our goal is to develop every state, every city develops, every municipality should be developed and every village is developed.” If we work in this direction, we will not have to wait till 2047 to become a developed India. ”He also suggested that the states should develop at least one tourist destination to suit all the facilities and infrastructure here with all the facilities and infrastructure.”
He said, “In India, there is rapid urbanization, in such a situation, we should work in the direction of cities ready for the future. Increase, innovation and environmentally friendly initiative should be the engine of development of cities of India. ”PM Modi also emphasized the need to work towards inclusion of women in the workforce.
He said, “We should make such laws and policies so that they can be associated with the workforce.” After Operation Sindoor, this is the first major meeting of the Prime Minister’s Chief Ministers and Lt. Governors of Union Territories.
Demand for Himachal government
In the meeting of NITI Aayog, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu demanded the release of the dues of his state. The Chief Minister said that in various schemes for the hilly states, they should relax the eligibility criteria and allocate more money. That if the center issues pending arrears for a long time, Himachal Pradesh itself will become self -sufficient.
Demand for Uttarakhand government in NITI Aayog meeting
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called for a special scheme to deal with the problem of drainage. In a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, it was said that in the meeting of the NITI Aayog’s governing council under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dhami also requested to include lift irrigation in the guidelines of PM Agricultural Irrigation Scheme. In the meeting, Dhami said that in 2026, Uttarakhand will host the famous Maa Nanda Raj Jat Yatra, which is also known as the mountain Mahakumbh.
CM Dhami said that Kumbh Mela will be held in Haridwar in 2027. He sought support to make both these events grand, divine and successful. He also emphasized the importance of the country’s demographic dividend in the creation of a developed India and said that it is necessary to use this dividend within a limited time limit.
Which issue did Hemant Soren raise?
In the meeting of the 10th Governing Council of NITI Aayog, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren raised the issue of dues of Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand 435 crore in lieu of mining on the state land. He said that companies working under the central government have this amount of rights and parts of Jharkhand for a long time. With the payment of this amount as soon as possible, the schemes of development and welfare in the state will be given momentum.
Chief Minister Soren raised the demand for amendment in the coal bearing act and said that the land on which companies do mining work should be made to return it to the state government. He also emphasized the need to decide the accountability of companies in cases of unauthorized mining in the mining sector in the state.
He said that there is abundance of coal as well as other critical minerals in the state, whose pollution and displacement in the order of mining has been a very big concern. Positive steps should also be taken to remove this anxiety.
Rekha Gupta presented a roadmap to make Delhi developed
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the roadmap of Delhi developed before NITI Aayog on Saturday. During this, he said that cleaning of Yamuna, development of infrastructure and water from every house tap is our priority. CM Rekha Gupta thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he is with the Delhi government on this issue.
He expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for the assurance of full cooperation for the development of infrastructure in Delhi. He said that the excellent public infrastructure for the overall development of Delhi is the first need of today.
MK Stalin demands funds
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin demanded more funds from the Center for the state. DMK Chief MK Stalin said that in federal democracy like India, it is not ideal for states to fight, argue or sue to get their right funds. He strongly advocated increasing the stake of states in Central Tax Revenue to 50 percent.
