Nitin Nabin was formally declared the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday (January 20, 2026). He has replaced JP Nadda. With his becoming president, a new chapter has begun for the party at a time when it is trying to strengthen its hold on the country’s politics. Meanwhile, politics has also started in Bihar.
‘Modi-Shah put forward Nitin Nabin’s name’
RJD spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed cornered BJP by raising the issue of nepotism. RJD says that RSS had put pressure on Modi Shah to make the national president of his choice. To get rid of this, Modi-Shah put forward the name of Nitin Nabin.
Ejaz Ahmed said that BJP raises questions on familyism just for show. Today BJP has worked to advance the politics of family politics. Will BJP now run according to dynasticism? BJP should clarify.
Why is the question of familyism arising?
Let us tell you that Nitin Nabin’s father Naveen Sinha used to be a BJP MLA in Bihar. He died in 2006. When by-elections were held, Nitin Nabin won. Carried forward his father’s political legacy. He is currently the MLA from Bankipur (Patna district). Now that he has been made the national president, RJD is cornering BJP by linking it to familyism. However, BJP has always been targeting Lalu family on the issue of dynasticism.
On the other hand, Nitin Nabin is the youngest person ever to hold the top post of the party (BJP). On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari and others were present at the BJP headquarters. Nitin Nabin became the 12th president of BJP, which was founded in 1980 and was born in the same year. Nitin Nabin, who stayed away from the limelight, was appointed the working president of BJP on 14 December. After this, he resigned from the post of Minister of Law and Justice, Urban Development and Housing in Bihar Government.
