Explain that if the consumer consumes 100 units or less electricity every month, then he will not have to pay any electricity bill, but if you use more than 100 units, you will have to pay an additional unit charge. Under this scheme, electricity up to 100 units per family will be free for domestic use.
Consumers will have to loose their pockets only after using more electricity than this. Only after the approval of the State Council of Ministers, information about the benefits of domestic electricity customers will be made public. This step of Nitish government of Bihar will benefit especially the families of lower and middle class, for which electricity bill is a big expenditure.
NDA government big bets in view of elections
Under the cottage Jyoti Yojana in rural areas, electricity is being provided to consumers at the rate of Rs 1.97 per unit and other domestic consumers at Rs 2.52 per unit. This rate is Rs 7.57 per unit in urban areas, but after the grant of Bihar government, it is Rs 4.52 per unit. Given the upcoming elections, the NDA government can be a big bet. By the way, time will tell how much it will benefit in the election.
