Patna’s Gandhi Maidan is once again going to witness the swearing in of Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister. The swearing-in ceremony has been scheduled for Thursday (20 September 2025) at 11:30 am. He is going to take oath as CM for the 10th time, in which many VIPs including PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah will be present.
After NDA got a huge majority in Bihar, the turmoil that started over the role in the government has now almost calmed down. Nitish Kumar was unanimously elected leader in the NDA legislature party meeting on Wednesday (19 November 2025). After this Nitish Kumar reached Raj Bhavan and met Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. He submitted his resignation from the post of Chief Minister and staked claim to form a new government.
Suspense over Deputy CM
After the victory of NDA, the suspense regarding who will be made Deputy CM or Minister from BJP in the new government has also ended. BJP has maintained the old caste balance by electing Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha as its leaders. It is also believed that the relations between these two leaders with Nitish Kumar are very good, in this respect also this is good news for BJP. However, there is still suspense over the names of ministers in the new government.
Nitish Kumar’s statement after being elected leader of the legislative party
After being elected the leader of the NDA Legislative Party, when Nitish Kumar said in the Central Hall of the Assembly that there is a lot of support from the Central Government and now more work has to be done than before. He said, “Now we are getting benefits from everywhere. Our state is progressing more than before and will continue to progress. Did the earlier ones do any work? When we came in 2005, we started working. This time there will be more development.”
Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi were also present in the NDA meeting. In the meeting, BJP’s Samrat Chaudhary proposed the name of Nitish Kumar as the leader of the NDA legislature party. Everyone unanimously chose Nitish Kumar as the leader. With this, Nitish Kumar will take oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time. An interesting data is also that Nitish Kumar will take oath as CM for the fifth time in the month of November.
PM and Home Minister will be present at the swearing in ceremony
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda and Chief Ministers of many states will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Nitish Kumar at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Home Minister Amit Shah has reached Patna on Wednesday night and PM Modi will reach Patna on Thursday (20 November 2025) and participate in the program.
NDA CM will reach the swearing in ceremony
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Dev Sai, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh will be present in this big event.
Apart from this, Assam CM Hemant Viswa Sarma, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Goa CM Pramodi Sawant, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and other ministers will also participate. Apart from this, other personalities, scientists and litterateurs who have been awarded Padma Bhushan and Padmashree will also attend the swearing-in ceremony.
