In a statement issued by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Jamie Overton said, “After much deliberation, I have decided to take a break from the red ball cricket indefinitely.” He further said, “Red ball format has had an important role in my career. Because of this I have got so many opportunities. Here I learned the game and this is where my goals and ambitions increased, which kept inspiring me for so long.”
Overton further said, “Due to the increasing demands of cricket in the 12 -month calendar at this turn of its career, it is no longer possible to give 100 percent of your 100 percent in all formats physically and mentally.”
