Top 10 Bowlers In The T20 World Cup History: The first edition of the ICC T20 World Cup was played in South Africa in 2007. This time the tenth edition of the T20 World Cup is being played jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Indian batsmen have dominated in all the editions of the T20 World Cup played so far. Virat Kohli is at the top, while Rohit Sharma is at the second place. In the case of bowlers the figures are completely different. There is not a single Indian bowler in the top 10. If we look at the most successful bowlers in the T20 World Cup matches played so far, the top 5 are occupied by Asian bowlers, but there is not a single bowler from Indian or military countries in it. Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh also has a chance to enter the top ten as well as the top 5. Arshdeep, currently ranked 19th, has taken 29 wickets in 15 matches of the T20 World Cup. R Ashwin has been India’s most successful bowler in the T20 World Cup. Ashwin has taken 32 wickets in 24 matches and is at 13th position. Former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan is in first place. Shakib has taken 50 wickets in 43 matches between 2007 and 2024. Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka is in second place. Hasaranga has taken 40 wickets in the 20 matches played so far between 2021 and 2026. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is in third place with 39 wickets in 34 matches. Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan is in fourth place. Rashid has taken 38 wickets in 24 matches played so far between 2016 and 2026. At number five is Lasith Malinga, former Sri Lankan fast bowler and who made Sri Lanka win the T20 World Cup under his captaincy. Malinga has taken 38 wickets in 31 matches.
Adam Zampa has a chance to make it to the top 5 of the T20 World Cup
Australian Adam Zampa is also in sixth place with 36 wickets in 21 matches and he also has a chance to reach the top position. Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal is in seventh place. Ajmal has 36 wickets in his name in 23 matches between 2009 and 2014. Former New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee is in eighth place. Saudi has taken 36 wickets in 25 matches between 2010 and 2024. Enrique Norcia of South Africa is in ninth place. Norkia has taken 35 wickets in 19 matches. Sri Lanka’s Ajantha Mendis is in tenth place. Between 2009 and 2014, Mendis took 35 wickets in 21 matches.
