The government has announced big relief for lakhs of youth preparing for police recruitment in Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who have been waiting for recruitment for a long time will no longer need to worry about age. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a special relaxation of three years has been given in the age limit for direct recruitment of UP Police and Jail Department. This decision will be applicable for direct recruitment of constable and related equivalent posts in 2025.
The government says that this decision has been taken completely in the interest of the youth. Due to delay in recruitment processes in the last few years, many eligible candidates had crossed the age limit. This relaxation in age limit has been given only to give a second chance to such youth, so that more and more qualified and hardworking candidates can participate in the recruitment process.
Under this decision, a total of 32 thousand 679 posts will be recruited. These posts include important posts like Reserve Civil Police, PAC, Armed Police, Special Security Force, Women Battalion, Mounted Police and Jail Warder. The government order has been issued and the application process is expected to start soon. After the announcement of recruitment, enthusiasm is being seen again among the youth.
Who gets how much discount?
According to the new system, the maximum age limit for male candidates of general category has been increased from 22 years to 25 years. Whereas for general category women, the maximum age limit has been increased from 25 years to 28 years. This will also provide relief to those women candidates who were waiting for recruitment for some years.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes will also get great benefit from this decision. The maximum age limit for male candidates of these categories has been increased from 27 years to 30 years, while for women this limit has been increased from 30 years to 33 years. This means that now even older youth will be able to apply for UP Police Recruitment.

Candidates of all categories will benefit from this, so that no one is discriminated against. The government believes that this will make the recruitment process more transparent and comprehensive.
