Now fan blades for Rolls Royce’s Pearl 10X engines will be ready in India, deal signed with Bharat Forge


Rolls Royce-Bharat Forge Partnership: Aerospace sector giant Rolls Royce has entered into an agreement with Bharat Forge Limited for the manufacturing and supply of fan blades for its Pearl 700 and Pearl 10X engines. Under this, fan blades used in high performance turbofan engines for business jets like Bombardier Global 5500/6500 jet, Gulfstream G700/G800 and Dassault Falcon 10X will be manufactured in India.

This agreement reflects Rolls-Royce’s commitment to double its supply chain sourcing in India by 2030. It also shows the company’s confidence in India’s manufacturing capabilities.

Deal signed in Berlin

The contract was signed at Rolls-Royce’s Dahlewitz facility near Berlin. This will strengthen mutual cooperation not only between the two companies but also between the two countries and will also strengthen Bharat Forge’s position as a better supplier of aerospace components.

Global supply chain will be strengthened

Commenting on the partnership, Shashi Mukundan, Executive Vice President (Transformation), Rolls-Royce India, said, “Rolls-Royce is pleased to further strengthen its partnership with Bharat Forge to further the ‘Make in India’ vision. This new contract reflects our commitment to building world-class manufacturing capabilities in India and also reflects our shared vision of supplying highly modern aerospace components to the global supply chain ecosystem.”

Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director, Bharat Forge Limited, said, “This extended partnership with Rolls-Royce reflects our shared commitment to engineering excellence and long-term collaboration. We are proud to support the Pearl engine family, which represents the future of high performance aviation.” Rolls-Royce and Bharat Forge started working together for the first time in 2020. During this period, parts of Pearl 700 were sourced. The first zero-defect fan blades were supplied in 2024. Pearl 10X engine was included in the newly signed contract.

The Pearl 10X powers some of the largest, fastest and longest-range business jets. The Pearl 10X engine features an Advanced2 engine core, the most advanced core in the business aviation sector, combined with a high-performance low-pressure system to deliver an outstanding thrust of over 18,000 pounds. The legacy of Rolls-Royce in India goes back 90 years.
