The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may soon file a formal complaint against Mohsin Naqvi. In fact, Mohsin Naqvi, the President of Asian Cricket Council, took the Asia Cup Trophy with him after the India-Pakistan match. After winning 5 wickets in the final, Team India refused to take the trophy at the hands of Mohsin Naqvi.
According to the Times of India, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said, “Our team had decided not to take the trophy from ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the Home Minister of Pakistan. It does not mean that he should go with the trophy.”
BCCI will complain
Devjit Saikia also informed that Ashish Shelar with BCCI Vice President will also raise the issue in the Asian Cricket Council meeting on Tuesday. Saikia confirmed and said, “Our 2 representatives will protest against illegally carrying the trophy by the ACC chairman. Mohsin Naqvi has no right to keep the trophy in this way.”
Expressing strong objection, the BCCI Secretary said, “I hope Naqvi will get goodwill and that trophy and medals will return to us. In the first week of November, ICC will have the next conference in Dubai, in which we will oppose very serious and strong against the ACC chairman.” This strict attitude of BCCI may be very heavy for Mohsin Naqvi.
Hope we will have the trophy soon …
Devjit Saikia said in strong words and said that this incident is very unfortunate and against sportsmanship. Saikia has hoped that the Asia Cup Trophy and medals will soon be given to Indian players.
Remind you that last Sunday, India had trampled Pakistan by 5 wickets in the Asia Cup final. Team India remained in the field for a long time, which refused to take the trophy from the hands of Mohsin Naqvi. When Naqvi left, the Indian team celebrated that special moment without trophy.
