Now RJD’s turn to ‘pay obeisance’, Hemant Soren’s JMM asked for so many seats in Bihar elections

Bihar assembly elections are 2025 heads and with this, the movement in the grand alliance of opposition parties has intensified. The discussion of seat sharing in the RJD -led grand alliance has gained momentum. Hemant Soren’s party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has also joined the seats and demanded 12 seats.

Hemant Soren has a JMM government in Jharkhand adjacent to Bihar. Also, allies are included in Congress, RJD and CPI (ML) L. However, it is not included in the opposition alliance of Bihar.

JMM-RJD’s unofficial conversation
According to the report of the Indian Express, the splitting of 243 seats was discussed unofficially in JMM and RJD. However, there has not been an official meeting between the two parties yet.

In the 2020 Bihar assembly elections, Hemant Soren’s JMM contested five seats alone. These five seats included Pirpainti, Katoria, Jhajha, Chakai and Manihari. At that time there was not a single seat in JMM’s account. Chakai showed the best performance where the party got 8.96 percent of the votes.

RJD was given 6 seats in Jharkhand elections
Now to create pressure, JMM reminded RJD of the Jharkhand assembly elections, in which Hemant Soren held RJD 6 seats and a minister. In Jharkhand with 81 assembly seats, JMM got 34 seats, Congress 16 and RJD got 4 seats. Apart from this, CPI ML L captured two seats.

Now a senior leader of Hemant Soren has given a big statement saying that the time has come to pay the favor of RJD. We sincerely hope that the RJD will include JMM in the Grand Alliance and will also give a respectable number of seats.

Bihar Secretary of JMM has told the Indian Express that the party has given a list of 12 strong seats to the RJD, which includes Tarapur, Belhar, Katoria, Chakai, Jhajha etc.
