5-STAR Smartphones and Tablets: Most of the electrical goods in the market are 5 stars. This means that 5 stor devices consume less power. On the same lines, now smartphones and tablets are also coming to 5 stars. The government is now preparing to implement the rating system for these devices as well. Its aim is to tell customers how easily a smartphone or tablet can be repaired.
Government suggested
According to the information, a government committee has recently submitted a report to the ministry which proposes to give “repairness rating” on smartphones and tablets. With this rating, customers will be able to know how easy or difficult it is to fix a phone. This will help them to take the right decision at the time of shopping.
Repairability index will get correct information
According to this proposal, the product will be measured on a 5-point rating scale. This rating will be based on the time and expenditure taken to repair the phone’s battery, screen, camera, charging port and the speaker. Also, it will be seen how simple it is to open the phone, which tools have been used and how easily spare parts are available.
Initially, only smartphones and tablets will come under this purview, but later laptops, desktops and other gadgets will also be added to it. According to the report, more than 20,000 complaints have been filed on the consumer helpline after which this step was taken.
Rating will be seen on packaging and website
Explain that the committee recommends that this rating companies will have to show clearly on the packaging and official website of their product. Let us tell you that the service of the device will be easy to give a 5-star rating. At the same time, the service that will be united will be given a 3-star-like rating. However, the beginning of this rule will only include smartphones and tablets. The feature phones will be excluded from it at the moment.
