Even after crossing 15 September, Section 234F of the Income Tax Act 1961 is implemented on those who do not deposit ITR. Penalty is imposed according to the income of the taxpayer.
How much penalty will be paid?
- If your total income is more than Rs 5 lakh, then you will have to pay a fine of Rs 5,000.
- If the total income is less than Rs 5 lakh, then you will not have to pay more than Rs 1,000.
- If the income is less than the taxable limit, there will be no fine.
