A few days ago, there was news of irregularities in the amount of Rs 556 crore of Haryana Government in the private bank located in Sector 32, Chandigarh. After this, now a case of irregularity of Rs 116 crore of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has come to light in the same bank. In this regard, Chandigarh Police has registered a case against former bank branch manager Ribhav Rishi and accountant Anubhav Mishra, hired on contract with Chandigarh Municipal Corporation.
Allegation of misappropriation of Haryana government’s money also
The former branch manager of the bank, against whom the Chandigarh Police has registered a case, has already been arrested by the Haryana Police in a case of irregularities in government money worth Rs 556 crore. The accused had embezzled Haryana Government’s money. The government got its money back within 24 hours.
The government had recovered its money with interest within 24 hours. However, this incident created a stir in the administration. In this matter, CM Nayab Singh Saini himself had informed in the Assembly how the government’s money was returned.
After the disturbance, the Municipal Corporation wrote for transfer
According to Chandigarh Police, this irregularity came to light when Chandigarh Municipal Corporation withdrew all the money of Chandigarh Smart City Limited Company which was in this bank under the Chandigarh Smart City Project. Wrote to him for transfer to the Municipal Corporation’s Punjab National Bank account.
Mistake of Rs 116 crores revealed
Chandigarh Municipal Corporation had taken this step after irregularities in the money of Haryana government came to light. After the Municipal Corporation wrote to Chandigarh Smart City Limited to transfer the money, it came to light that there was an irregularity of Rs 116 crore in the deposited money and the money which is still with the bank. At present there is a stir in the area due to this incident. The police have started investigating the entire matter thoroughly.
