
Under this policy, the government will buy medicines, medical equipment and investigation at low prices. This will use the budget correctly and more patients will get treatment.

Health Minister Vishaljit Rane said that Goa is the first state in the country to adopt this policy. Through this, a confidential price agreement between the government and the pharmaceutical companies will be possible.

This initiative is going to start with the treatment of lung cancer. Later it will also be applied to other cancer and serious diseases.

Treatment of cancer, genetic disease and autoimmune diseases can be expensive up to Rs 50 lakh annually. This policy will make it easier for common patients.

Every year about 1,500 new cancer patients appear in Goa. This includes the most breast cancer and then oral cancer.

The government says that it is necessary to strengthen the healthcare system so that patients with rising cancer and rare diseases can be treated properly.

A committee has been formed which will fix the correct price of medicines and equipment. This will compromise with companies at the best price so that patients benefit.
