WhatsApp says that this feature will take full care of users privacy and the entire process of translation will remain on the user device and the company itself will not be able to see it.

How to use a translate feature?
The way to use this feature is very easy. Long press on it to translate any message. After this, the option of translate will come. In this option, users will be able to choose the language of their choice. While using for the first time, they have to download the language. The company has planned to rollout this feature for more than 3 billion users worldwide.
Support these languages
This feature will be rolled out in a phased manner. Initially, this feature on Android phones will support English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian and Arabic language. Later on, other languages will be included in it. At the same time, it will come with 19 language support on iPhone. To improve this feature on Android platform, additional option is being given in it. In this, users will be able to enable automatic translation in a chat on their own free will. After this, all the messages coming in that chat will be translated and they will not have to translate them manually.
