A great privacy feature is about to come for iPhone users, after which it will become difficult to trace their location accurately. Apple will roll out this feature in the upcoming iOS 26.3 update, with the help of which users will be able to hide their exact location from their network carrier. This feature has been spotted in the beta version of iOS 26.3 and it will limit the location data that network carriers can access. This will give the user more control over his privacy.
What will change with the new feature?
Currently, the company whose SIM you use can find out your exact location by using the mobile tower where you are standing in a street. Now to stop this, Apple is introducing a new feature called ‘Limit Precise Location’. After enabling it, the mobile service provider company will not be able to find out your exact location. Apple says that after this feature, companies will be able to detect only the area where you are standing. They will not get accurate information about where you are. This feature will not affect the signal quality and user experience. Also, there will be no impact on the data which is shared during emergency calls.
Will work on these devices
Apple will roll out this feature in its upcoming update, but it will not be available for all iPhone users. This will only work on cellular versions of iPhone Air, iPhone 16e and M5 iPad Pro. Actually, all these devices are equipped with the company’s C1 or C1X modem. Also, to use this feature, iOS 26.3 or iPadOS 26.3 update should be installed on the user’s device. This feature can be enabled from the cellular menu by going to Settings.
