Amidst the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor, US President Donald Trump has dropped a bomb by saying that Pakistan is engaged in conducting underground nuclear tests. Trump even claims that mild earthquakes are occurring due to these nuclear tests.
It is noteworthy that during Operation Sindoor, the Indian Air Force had destroyed at least three nuclear bases of Pakistan by attacking them with BrahMos missile. India attacked Pakistan’s Kirana Hills (Sargodha), Noor Khan Air Base and Rahim Yar Khan Base and carried out heavy bombing on the night of 9-10.
Pakistan’s nuclear blackmailing exposed
Pakistan’s Nuclear Command and Control Center was completely destroyed in these attacks by India. This is the reason why Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Army had said that after these attacks, Pakistan’s nuclear blackmailing has been exposed. Amidst these claims of India, Trump’s statement is being considered very important.
Trump, who returned to his country after meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea, has made a big revelation to a TV channel about the nuclear tests taking place around the world. Trump said that countries like Russia, China, North Korea and Pakistan are conducting nuclear tests, hence America is also going to conduct nuclear tests after 33 years.
US President’s claim regarding nuclear test
On the argument of the channel anchor that they (Russia, China etc.) are testing missiles capable of carrying nuclear weapons and not nuclear tests, Trump said that not all countries are as open-minded as America. According to Trump, there is no reporting about nuclear tests in these countries.
The US President also said that these tests are done underground, due to which no one is aware of this, but Trump definitely said that during these tests, slight vibrations (shocks) definitely occur in the earth.
Tremors on Pakistan-Afghanistan border
The special thing is that during Operation Sindoor, mild earthquake tremors were felt for several days on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. During that time, it was feared that these vibrations could be due to Pakistan’s nuclear test, but no concrete evidence was revealed.
America and Pakistan have come very close after Operation Sindoor. On Trump’s invitation, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir visited the White House. In such a situation, there is a strong possibility that either Munir or Shahbaz has given the information about the nuclear test to Trump.
Former CIA officer disclosed
Recently, a former officer of America’s intelligence agency CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) had revealed that America is responsible for handling Pakistan’s nuclear weapons. This CIA officer has been posted in Pakistan for many years.
According to the latest report (2025) of SIPRI (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute), a global think tank that keeps track of nuclear weapons around the world, Pakistan has 170 nuclear weapons in its arsenal. According to the report, India has slightly more nuclear weapons than Pakistan i.e. 172.
12,405 nuclear weapons worldwide
In the year 2018, PM Modi himself, on the first patrolling of the nuclear submarine INS Arihant, had informed about the country becoming a nuclear power in the nuclear triad i.e. water, land and sky. According to SIPRI, at present there are 12,405 nuclear weapons in the world.
Of these, Russia has the maximum of 5580 in its reserves. America is at second place with 5328 weapons and China (500) is at third place. England and France have 225 and 290 respectively, while North Korea has 50 and Israel has 90.
