On the basis of Matt Henry and Jacob Dafi’s brilliant bowling, New Zealand defeated South Africa by 21 runs at Harare Sports Club with a winning T20 tri -series.
The third team in this series is Zimbabwe. South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first.
New Zealand scored 173 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs, batting first. For New Zealand, Tim Robinson scored 75 runs off 57 balls. In this innings, he hit six fours and three sixes.
In addition, Bavon Jacobs scored an unbeaten 44 runs off 30 balls with the help of three sixes and 1 fours. New Zealand had lost 5 wickets for 70 runs. But, both of them shared an unbeaten 103 -run partnership off 63 balls and brought the team to a strong score of 173.
For South Africa, Quen Mafaka took two while Lungi Angidi, Koetzi and Muthusamy took 1-1 wickets.
South Africa was reduced to 152 runs in 18.2 overs to achieve the target of 174 runs. Pretorius 27, Dewald Brevis 35 and George Linde scored 30 runs. Apart from this, no batsman could face the bowlers of New Zealand. Six batsmen could not reach in two digits.
For New Zealand, Matt Henry and Jacob Dafi bowled well and played an important role in covering South Africa for 152 runs. Matt Henry took 3 wickets for 34 runs, while Dafi took 3 wickets for 20 runs in four overs. Ish Sodhi also took 2 wickets for 34 runs. Captain Santner took one wicket. Tim Robinson was declared the best player of the match.
