In September this year, Women’s ODI World Cup (Women’s ODI World Cup 2025) is going to be organized. The tournament will start from 30 September and run till 2 November, in which the top-8 teams of the world will be participating. India and Sri Lanka are going to host the World Cup, but a bad news has come out about 2 months before the start of the World Cup. According to Cricbuzz, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has not yet taken permission from the Government of Karnataka for organizing the World Cup matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
KSCA has not yet taken permission from the state government, it is a matter of concern, because the first match of the tournament is to be played here between India and Sri Lanka. A total of 4 matches have been allotted to the Chinnaswamy Stadium throughout the tournament, one of which is also a semi -final match.
The reason for uncertainty for the World Cup matches is the cause of the Bangalore stampede in June, in which 11 people lost their lives. After that tragic incident, the Karnataka government has not yet allowed Chinnaswamy Stadium to organize matches. Even the Karnataka State Cricket Association has had to shift the Maharaja T20 tournament.
According to the cricbage, an official in KSCA said, “We have written a letter to the state government and are waiting for the reply. It is not that the government has refused to organize the matches. If there was any such policy, then they do not organize the Maharaja T20 tournament in Maysuru. So we are waiting for the time being.
India vs Sri Lanka match will be played on 30 September at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Apart from this, England vs South Africa on 3 October and India vs Bangladesh match on 26 October are also to be played here. The second semi -final match has also been hosted by Chinnaswamy Stadium.
