ODI record: It is considered a very rare and excellent achievement to score FIFTI in ODI cricket as well as taking five wickets in a match. This especially reflects the real ability of all -rounder players, who contribute significantly to the team in both batting and bowling. So far, only a few players have done this wonders and have registered their names in cricket history.
Viv Richards – West Indies
West Indies great batsman Viv Richards did this feat on 18 March 1987 against New Zealand in Dundin. In this match, Richards scored 119 runs and also took 5 wickets after spending 41 runs. His performance proved that he was an expert in both batting and bowling.
Chris Srikanth – India
India’s magnificent opener Chris Srikanth achieved this rare achievement against New Zealand in Visakhapatnam on 10 December 1988. Srikanth scored 70 runs in this innings and took 5 wickets for 27 runs in his spell while bowling brilliantly. His performance showed that sometimes expert batsmen can also affect the match with the ball.
Mark Waugh – Australia
Australia’s skilled all -rounder Mark Waugh played a 57 -run innings of 57 runs against the West Indies in Melbourne on 15 December 1992 and also took 5 wickets in bowling by giving just 24 wickets. This performance reflects his multidimensional talent and cricket understanding.
Lance Clusner – South Africa
South Africa’s aggressive all -rounder Lance Clusner scored 54 runs against Sri Lanka in Lahore on 6 November 1997 and took 6 wickets (6/49). His game strengthened the team in both departments and made him special among the fans.
Abdul Razzaq – Pakistan
Pakistan’s veteran all -rounder Abdul Razzaq scored an unbeaten 70 against India in Hobart on 21 January 2000 and took 5 wickets (5/48). His performance proves that all -rounders can change the game’s stance completely in the same match.
